I stay village scam

This is not an uncommon story.
No loser in Thailand, just the one back living in his home country, probably taking care of the girl financially.
This has been relayed on numerous occasions, not always the same female culprit I hasten to add!

A guy is chatting to a girl, whether it’s in a bar or in a room.
The girl’s mobile phone rings and you can see the panic on her face as she realises who is calling. It’s her boyfriend who is back in his home country.

The girl looks for a private spot to hold the conversation.
Not always so easy, especially if she’s involved with someone else at that moment.

It’s virtually impossible not to hear the girl’s side of the conversation.
“Yes honey. How are you too?”
“I miss you”
“When you send me money to my bank?”
“No, no, now I stay in my village, look after Mama and Papa”

Oh yeah? Sure! Pattaya: Thailand’s biggest village.

But the really disconcerting thing is when the girl can finish the conversation and turn her attention back to the guy she was originally chatting to, as if nothing had happened.
